Funny Girl

As I sat decorating her cake Friday night, Annemarie bombarded me with compliments. "You are the best mom." "Thank you for doing this for me." "I am so proud of you." I looked at my mom and asked her if this was normal of her age. She answered no. Annie has always been like this weirdly gracious and appreciative. She says things like she's much older. So, today when I dropped her off at school the director gushed that she had made her teacher cry! Alarmed, I asked why. (Background: this teacher seems much more orderly and less affectionate than her teacher last year) The director told me she went up to her teacher on Thursday and said "Maestra, I just want to thank you for making me feel special on my birthday." I was a proud mommy this morning :)
